Marquez confident of win by KO or decision
Juan Manuel Marquez will take a win over Manny Pacquiao in any form: either by knockout or decision.
“In the first fight, three years ago, I must have won. Now I’m not going to leave (any) doubt, and hope to win by knockout or decision,” said Marquez.
The WBC super-featherweight champion held a public workout at the Romanza Gym in Mexico the other day, and spoke to the media about the coming fight.
“I feel well and in great physical condition to face Pacquiao in a very important fight in my career,” the 34-year-old counter-puncher told boxnoticias.com.
Marquez said he’s been training for more than two months now, and should be in his best by the time he and Pacquiao climb the ring in Mandalay Bay on March 15.
Marquez will be in Las Vegas on March 9, the same day Pacquiao plans to take a four-hour drive from his Los Angeles training quarters all the way to Sin City.
“This is one fight that both Mexico and the Philippines are hoping will be one of the best this year,” said Marquez.
He sparred for two rounds against Japanese super-lightweight Noria Kimuri and one each against Rafael Fernandez and Eusebio Osejo.
Based on reports, Marquez was doing extremely well in training.
But that shouldn’t be a problem for Pacquiao since the Filipino superstar, according to his promoter, Bob Arum, is likewise training like hell.
