VILORIA FACES LOPEZ TODAY IN VEGAS

Former WBC light flyweight champion Brian "Hawaiian Punch" Viloria once again will try to take one step forward to regain lost glory as he faces Cesar "Gallito" Lopez in a non-title 8-round fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The fight will be in the undercard of the huge Kelly Pavlik-Jermain Taylor card put up by promoter Bob Arum entitled "Revenge or Repeat?" Viloria (20-2, 12 KO's) will try to get another win following his victory over Jose Garcia Bernal last month in Los Angeles, as a possible ticket to a much-cherished duel with the highly-talented Nonito Donaire Jr.

Both Viloria and Lopez came in at 111.5 lbs at yesterday's official weigh-in in Las Vegas. Lopez (20-5, 4 KO's) has never been knocked out in his career, and had once absorbed a decision defeat at the hands of Glenn Donaire, who is himself aching for a fight with Viloria, his amateur days archrival.

In the co-feature, WBO superfly champ Fernando Montiel will defend his title against ex-WBA champ Martin Castillo in what is expected to be a duel between two technical fighters.

In another superflyweight confrontation, WBC 115-lb champion Cristian Mijares takes a step to the big-time as he defends against perennial challenger Jose Navarro.
