HBO MARQUEZ-PACQUIAO II COUNTDOWN STARTS MARCH 8

HBO Sports is presenting a thirty- minute special analyzing the upcoming HBO Pay-Per-View showdown fight between two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in boxing, Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao. The long awaited super featherweight world title battle is set for Saturday, Mar. 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The special "COUNTDOWN TO MARQUEZ-PACQUIAO II," which will feature fighter profiles, expert analysis and forecasts for the showdown in Las Vegas, will premiere on Saturday, Mar. 8 immediately following the HBO World Championship Boxing telecast that airs live at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.

Marquez of Mexico brings a 48-3-1, 35 KOs record in the meeting with Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines who sports a 45-3-2, 34 KOs mark. Boasting near identical records and professional achievements, it is no surprise that their first encounter for the featherweight title on May 8, 2004 ended in a thrilling majority draw. As their long awaited rematch approaches nearly four years later, both fighters are still considered two of the most exciting and toughest pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.

The countdown special will also be available to HBO ON DEMAND, Monday, March 10 through Monday, March 17.

Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - As is his wont everytime he comes home from a victorious fight, Pacquiao went to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo) Church, arriving late for the 9 a.m. Mass. Manny Pacquiao?s arrival drew more worshipers to the church. The crowd inside the basilica reached at least 1,500 for the Mass celebrated by Fr. Jack Padua. Bernard Enrique, 52, of Pasig City, was late for the 6 a.m. Mass that he and his wife usually attend and decided to stay for the 9 a.m. Mass. ?I only found out he (Pacquiao) was coming when I saw the media. I asked around and was told he was attending Mass today," Enrique said, regretting not bringing a camera or a phone with a camera.
