VAZQUEZ WINS RUBBERMATCH WITH MARQUEZ!

Israel Vazquez has just won the rubbermatch against Rafael Marquez after what is easily going to be a Fight of the Year candidate seconds ago at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Vazquez eked out a hard-fought split decision verdict, sealing it with a knockdown over Marquez in the final round to emerge victorious in two judges' scorecards 114-111 and 113-112 while the third judge saw it for Marquez 114-111.

It was a fitting finale to the rivalry between these two future Hall of Fame candidates.

With the win, Vazquez now solidifies a possible encounter with superstars Manny Pacquiao or Marco Antonio Barrera in the near future.

Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - As is his wont everytime he comes home from a victorious fight, Pacquiao went to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo) Church, arriving late for the 9 a.m. Mass. Manny Pacquiao?s arrival drew more worshipers to the church. The crowd inside the basilica reached at least 1,500 for the Mass celebrated by Fr. Jack Padua. Bernard Enrique, 52, of Pasig City, was late for the 6 a.m. Mass that he and his wife usually attend and decided to stay for the 9 a.m. Mass. ?I only found out he (Pacquiao) was coming when I saw the media. I asked around and was told he was attending Mass today," Enrique said, regretting not bringing a camera or a phone with a camera.
